Greetings, UCA Family
On behalf of the Executive Board of the United Clogging Association (UCA), we would like to wish all of our teams, families, and friends across the clogging community a very Happy New Year. We hope 2026 is off to a strong and inspiring start for everyone.
As we begin the new year, we would like to share an important update regarding the UCA competition calendar and future Championship planning.
With the loss of our beloved Stompin’ Grounds in Maggie Valley—long the home of many UCA National Championships—due to a change in ownership and extensive renovations, the Executive Board has been diligently working to identify a new, worthy venue for our Championships. At the same time, we have been exploring a potential shift in our competition calendar, including the possibility of moving the Championship event to a late January or early February timeframe.
Throughout this process, the UCA Executive Board sought and received thoughtful, constructive feedback from our wider UCA Family—YOU SPOKE; WE LISTENED!
As a result, we are pleased to announce the following updates:
• The entirety of Calendar Year 2026 will serve as the qualifying season for the upcoming UCA Championships.
• The 2026 UCA Championships will be held at the Lexington Civic Center in Lexington, North Carolina, on Presidents Day Weekend in February 2027.
We believe this approach allows our community the time and space to reset, refocus, and enjoy a full year of competitive opportunities—bringing renewed energy, creativity, and choreography to the UCA stage.
The first scheduled qualifying event for the 2026 season will be the South Carolina Clogging Council (SCCC) hosted by Dianne Loftin, on March 21st. Additional details and updates can be found on our competition calendar at: https://www.cloguca.com/calendar/
As of this Press Release, the other scheduled events for Calendar 2026 include:
• Southern Junction Championships, April 4th – Central, SC
• Sunshine State Jamboree and Competition, July 31st – TPC Sawgrass Ponte Vedra Beach, FL
• With more to be announced soon!
We look forward to presenting a full slate of events in Calendar 2027, including new dates and venues!
In recognition of the challenges and disruptions that affected the previous season, the UCA Executive Board has also approved the following provision:
• Any solo, duo, or team dance that was awarded Grand Champion at any UCA event held during Calendar Year 2025 is automatically qualified for the 2026 UCA Championship.
We feel this adjustment is both fair and necessary, given the extraordinary circumstances beyond our control.
We hope these updates are received as positive and welcomed news. The Executive Board is genuinely excited to begin the next chapter of the UCA legacy and looks forward to continuing this journey with the support and presence of our incredible community.
